• Directions from Blacknall:  
• Head west on Perry St.  
• Turn left onto 9th St.  
• At stoplight (Wachovia to your right, BP Gas to your left), turn right onto Main St.  Proceed 1 mile.
• Turn left at end of road onto Hillsborough Rd.  Cross over 15-501/I-85 junction.  
• Turn right onto Cole Mill Rd.  Drive ~5 miles. (You will cross over Pleasant Green Rd. at which point Cole Mill Rd. becomes an access road).  
• Road terminates at parking lot for Few's Ford area.

Places to visit / Things to do while you're in town:

• Duke Chapel Metered parking lots either at Bryan student center, or in front of chapel. Directions.
• Duke Gardens Free entrance. Pay parking: $0.25/15 minutes, also free street parking on Anderson Rd. Directions.
• Morehead Planetarium General admission: $5/child, $6/adult; Metered parking available on Franklin St. Directions.
• NC Botanical Gardens Free entrance and parking. Directions.
• Duke Forest, Location and maps. 
• The Al Buehler trail is a popular 3-mile loop around the Washington Duke Golf course.  Gravel parking lots just east of the corner of Science Dr. and NC-751, and 1/4 mile west of that intersection at the bottom of the hill just before Erwin Rd.
• There's a nice trail off Whitfield Rd. that is a little more remote and has a couple longer hills. Park along Whitfield Rd. about 1 mile west of the Whitfield Rd./Erwin Rd. intersection.
• Nice shady trails off of NC-751, approx. 1/2 mile NW of the 15-501/NC-751 junction. But we'd recommend going with someone who knows the trails -- you have to cross over NC-751 a couple times to make a loop.
• Jordan Lake $5/vehicle entrance fee.
• Blueridge Parkway, Map.
• Biltmore Estate Admission ranges from ~$45-49/adult, half-price for a child; discounted prices of $39-45 available for online purchases.  Directions.
• Asheboro Zoo Admission fee: $6/child, $10/adult.  Directions.
• Emerald Isle Beach for a nice family beach, but it's a 3 1/2-hr drive away.  Wilmington beach is a good beach for a day trip or even 1/2 day trip.  Parking locations at Emerald Isle.
